The Directors of the Brant Animal Aid Foundation are pleased to announce and congratulate Julia Tenklooster and Vanessa Thompson on being named the 2025 recipients of the Alberta Inglis Scholarship Award. Julia is a graduate of Assumption College School and is registered in the Year 1 Equine Care and Management Associate Diploma program at REACH Huron (partnered with the University of Guelph. Vanessa has completed Year 1 in the Bachelor of Science Biomedical Toxicology program at the University of Guelph and is looking to apply to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the University of Guelph this coming year. The Alberta Inglis Scholarship Award was established by the Brant Animal Aid Foundation in 1999 in memory of Alberta Inglis, a highly respected educator in Brantford who championed and advocated for the rights of animals and spent a lifetime dedicated to their health, care, and well-being. The Alberta Inglis Scholarship Award is an award opportunity valued at $1000 for students pursuing post-secondary studies in Animal Health Care programs. All students who have been accepted to or are enrolled in a post-secondary program at a college or university related to the study of animal health care are invited to apply for the Alberta Inglis Scholarship Award. Applications and full eligibility criteria for this award will be available at all Student Services and Cooperative Education Departments in secondary schools and many Veterinary Clinics in Brant County in January 2025. Brant Animal Aid Foundation is a non-profit, charitable foundation, established in 1998, whose objective it is to provide funding assistance to qualified individuals and projects in Brantford and Brant County to assist all animals, domestic and feral, to live healthy and peaceful lives, free from unnecessary suffering, injury, abuse, and neglect. Brant Animal Aid is an organization that champions the human–animal bond and encourages responsible pet ownership by providing financial support.
